The Butterfly chair by L. Ercolani, designed by Lucian Ercolani was first launched in 1958 and with years it has become one of Ercolani’s most iconic designs. Characterized by voluptuous curves the Butterfly chair is able to create an intrinsically eye-catching appeal. The inherent springiness in the bent plies of the seat and back and the sculpted recessed shape, as well as the moulded wing shaped back provide a comfortable sit. The main feature of this essential wooden chair is represented by the classic Windsor wedge joint, where the leg of the chair goes right through the seat; a wedge is then inserted into a cut in the leg, forming a remarkably strong joint. Sanded off flush with the seat, the joint then provides a beautiful design element. The Butterfly chair is available in 7 different finishings in order to satisfy all user's needs and tastes.
